【Shui-li Snake Kiln】The Snake Kiln is origin from Fu Chau, named because of the long kiln resembles a snake from a distance.

Shui-li Snake Kiln is the pioneer of pottery in Taiwan, nurtured excellent pottery masters. Moreover, the local specialty is clay which has less impurities and toughness, so the potteries from Shui-li Snake Kiln are rugged became famous. The most famous kiln is originated in 1927 by Lin Chiangsung, the pottery master in Nantou. The third generation Lin Kuo Long has combined tourism with pottery and the Snaked Kiln Ceramics Cultural Park was built, which provides useful information, pottery classes, tea hall, cultural hall and horticulture.

【Checheng Station】Checheng Station is the terminal station of the Jiji line railroad located in Checheng Village. The Jiji line

railroad was built in 1919 and start from Ershui Station of Changhua to Checheng Station of Nantou with total distance of 29.8

kilometers. Checheng Station was serious damaged after the September 21st earthquake and the station now is rebuilt with mostly wooden materials, even for the square floors.

【The Paper Dome】The paper dome was designed by architect Shigeru Ban after the Takatori Church collapsed in the 1995

Osaka-Kobe Earthquake as a temporary site for a summit. After it fulfilled its local mission, the paper dome that symbolized the reconstruction effort was shipped all the way to the Taomi community to continue its relief mission. The church is held up by 58

paper columns and even the bench chairs in the church are made using paper. This was designed to convey the message that materials as soft as paper can hold up a building; the roof, exterior and even the rectangular corridors are both made of fiber-

reinforced plastics and sunshine shoots through the roof to present a sacred atmosphere for the church.

【Chung Tai Chan Monastery】Designed by C.Y. Lee, the monastery is with seven years of construction and covers 26000 square meters. Here visitors can expresses a harmony of arts, culture and science. The main building of Chung Tai resembles a cultivator in sitting meditation and is a landmark of 21st century religious architecture in center of Taiwan.
